Franz Edmund Weirotter was a very significant Austrian landscape painter and etcher of the 18th century. He studied in Innsbruck, then moved to Mainz, where he worked for the Kurfuerst. He lived in Paris between 1759 and 1763 and was a pupil of J.G.Wille. From 1767 the artist was active in Vienna.
This etching is a rare work by Franz Edmund Weirotter.
