Edward William Charlton was a well-known British painter and etcher. He worked in Tonbridge,Kent, Ringwood and Lymington, Hants. He was elected RPE in 1907 and was a member of the Print Society. Charlton began etching in 1890, completing over 120 small landscape prints. He exhibited original etchings at the RA from 1891 to 1904.
