Beginning in April of 1938, and mostly completed in the basic issuance by January 1939, the set comprised of some 32 sheet stamps, 13 coils , and 3 booklet issues. In addition to this, various other printings and reprintings in various shades, electric eye markings, mm spacings, and many other sub-varieties can be collected. The series is most notable in that each of the presidents from the 1st to the 22nd follows the exact denomination in cents as the order of their presidency. The presidents then do follow in order but at intervals of face value that were appropriate for the series of definitives up to Coolidge for the $5.00 value. But it is quite easy to remember that Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the US, because he was on the 16 cent value of this series of stamps. The many cachets that were produced at this time, make fine additions to specialized collections of the issue, or for that matter specialized collections focusing on any one president. All but the 1/2 cent value of the series, were issued First Day of Issue in Washington, DC. Both hand and machine cancels exist.

Domestic - 1-3 items first class for $2 | 4-10 items first class parcel for $3 | 11 items and up will be adjusted depending on weight and value (normally sent in priority mail box for $6.00)

International - 1-3 items first class for $3 | 4 items and up will be adjusted depending on weight and value. Parcel rates for international shipments start at $10. (Canada & Mexico subject to slightly lower rates in parcel cases)

***** All international shipments with a value of $60 USD and over will be sent by registered mail for safety. The cost for registered mail is $13.65 extra, added to the above shipping rates. A buyer can request a lower, first class only shipping rate, but the buyer will take full responsibility for the items shipped and any possible loss or damage through mailing

**** Shipments to Italy will be subject to our Registered Mail rule (as seen above) but at items values of $30 USD and over.
