Né en 1970, IKON est bercé dans son enfance par les BD Marvel, le surf, le skate et le graffiti. Dans son œuvre, il immortalise ses héros tels que Captain America qui représente à ses yeux le rêve américain dans toute sa splendeur. Symbole de force et de protection, et défenseur du monde libre contre les tyrans, il est affublé d'un bouclier, ici représenté par des collages du comics. Quasi indestructible, ce bouclier souligne le fait que rien n'est impossible. A travers cet icône du monde moderne, l'artiste met en exergue la volonté de toute puissance d'un état américain et un individualisme croissant.

BIOGRAPHIE:

Ikon est un artiste français né en 1970. Il vit et travaille entre Paris et Hossegor. Issu de la de la culture urbaine surf et skate, il parcourt le monde à la recherche des meilleures vagues de la planète et commence à peindre sur des planches de surf.
Il se consacre à son art puisant son inspiration entre culture surf et skate, ses voyages et la culture de masse (bd, dessins animés, cinéma). Utilisant l’humour pour faire passer des messages plus sérieux, il décline sous toutes formes d’icônes son personnage « Beasty Boy » dans un univers très coloré. Son travail est basé essentiellement sur la recherche de techniques progressives autour de la précision des traits.

Il fût un des artistes urbains mis en avant par agnès B tels que jonone , moze 156 et plusieurs de ses oeuvres font partie de la fondation Agnès B , avec qui il collabore toujours pour la création de motifs colorés abstraits utilisés dans les collection de la créatrice.

Born in 1970 , IKON , major artist of the french graffiti scene in the 90s/2000s , was rocked in his childhood by marvel comics , surfing , skateboarding and graffiti. In his work , he immortalizes his heroes such as Captain America who represents in his eyes the american dream in all its splendor. Ikon is a French artist born in 1970. He lives and works between Paris and Hossegor in south of france. Coming from the urban surf and skate culture, he travels the world in search of the best waves on the planet and begins to paint on surfboards.
He dedicates himself to his art drawing inspiration from surf and skate culture, his travels and mass culture (comics, cartoons, cinema). Using humor to convey more serious messages, he declines in all forms of icons his character "Beasty Boy" in a very colorful universe. His work is based essentially on the search for progressive techniques around the precision of the lines.
He was one of the urban artists highlighted by agnès B such as jonone, moze 156 and several of his works are part of the Agnès B foundation, with whom he always collaborates for the creation of abstract colored patterns used in the creator's collections .
