Description: Very scarce book. A Study of the Black Art Today. A very nice example of the first printing of the first edition. 8.75 inches by 6 inches. 379 pages with illustrations by Siegel. Original hardback with red titles to the front and spine. 

The book is in attractive condition with some bumping and wear, light chipping to the spine (see pictures). Internally clean. The previous owner has folded some of the corners of a few pages of interest, and made some cryptic notes (see picture of page 43 for an example). Toning and small red mark to page edges. 

This scarce book covers topics such as The Black Mass, Witches' Familiars, The Sex-Ritual, Love Charms and How to Cast a Spell. 

Theda Kenyon (1894-1997) was an American writer and lecturer. Her first name is an anagram for "death". She was published in many periodicals, including Weird Tales and The Argosy. Theda Kenyon wrote many books, most sensationally this book - Witches Still Live: A Study of the Black Art Today.
