             ‘Phoenix Rising’  is crafted from a beautiful, thick slab of burled eucalyptus. Its captivating tigerseye graining remains consistently prominent from end to end. The slab of eucalyptus is split and re-oriented so that the two live-edges form a steep canyon between their boundaries. The canyons narrow width but nearly vertical slope, in conjunction with the formidably thick live-edge slab, further exaggerates its expansive field of depth. An end- to end design was then established that flowed with a constant but balanced variance, and that would effectively complement and enhance, but not overpower the tigerseye graining pattern. A duet of inlaid (Arizona) turquoise and native silver on both geo-tabletop ends, paired with an elegant and evolving, but not overly complex resin art, was designed for this purpose and desired balance. Inset on one tabletop end lies a fibrous malachite (Brazil) hand specimen with euhedral azurite crystals, and an adjacent mineral specimen of cactus amethyst (Brazil), with inset (Arizona) turquoise along the live-edge eucalyptus.

       ‘Phoenix Rising’ was crafted for tabletop display, but will also beautifully display as wall art. However, wall mounting may require professional installation.
