Blue Diamond Turquoise is a Rich deep electric blue Turquoise producing mine in Nevada.one of the hardest turquoise ever produced. Considered a hat mine, mines so small you could cover it with a hat. Limited quantity.
Blue Diamond was mined mostly in the 60s and 70s. This material was mined in the early 60’s. The best Old Stock. It ranges from dark blue, light Blue, or green with a jet black matrix of chert. Black on blue is Hard to beat as far as esthetics go. Another common look of Blue Diamond Turquoise is dark blue with smoky black matrix, somewhat like Bisbee Turquoise From The Lavender Pit. Blue Diamond Turquoise is one of the best and hardest Turquoises to ever come out of the ground. The best pieces can Rival Lander Blue Turquoise with the jet black spider web matrix and Electric vivid blue colors. This is a classic American Turquoise Look. The mine produces a ton of different colors. It is a truly special turquoise and near Impossible to find.
Starting in the 1960’s , the Process of Stabilization was introduced. Basically chalk turquoise too soft to polish was glued together. Literally 95% of the turquoise you see is stabilized meaning it’s cheap and not rare at all. Fake in my opinion. Yes it came out of the ground, but no it is not Natural. I strictly deal in the top 5% of Natural And Untreated Gemstones. This means it comes out of the ground HARD with no need to enhance it in any way. Earth is truly the best artist. I just help out a little. As soon as Turquoise is treated in any way, it looses 90% of its value. Stabilized turquoise vs natural Untreated turquoise is like comparing cubic zirconia to a diamond to give you some reference. Natural Untreated Gemstones only thank you very much.
