Description: Scarce. A very nice example the rare first edition. 8.5 inches by 5.75 inches. 384 pages, frontispiece missing, with 31 other full page illustrations and 3 in-text illustrations. Original hardback with titles to the spine. The book is in attractive condition with some wear, and marking (see pictures). Professional reinforcement to both hinges. Times book club stamp to the rear end paper. Binding sound and square. Light toning to some leaves (see pictures). 

Harry Price (1881-1948) was psychic researched who gained public notoriety for his exposure of fraudulent spiritualist mediums and his ghost hunting activities. This scarce book contains his brutal exposure of  the tragic medium Helen Duncan which ends with the notorious words; "Could anything be more infantile than a group of grown up men wasting time, money, and energy on the antics of a fat female crook".
