The Bulgaria 1 Lev Banknote is part of the 1999 issues of the Bulgarian National Bank. It has hints of red, orange, and blue. The obverse of the note depicts the 1789 icon of Saint Ivan Rilski from Uspenie Bogorodichno (Assumption of Our Lady) Church near the Rila Monastery. The reverse of the paper bill depicts the floor plan and the main church of the Rila Monastery. The note contains a holographic stripe, a solid security thread with a demetallized Bulgarian text, and a watermark that reveals a rampant lion. It measures 112 x 60 mm and is signed by Svetoslav Gavriiski and Lyuben Ivanov. This particular note is in uncirculated condition.
