Recent studies on eLearning, using educational technologies in the classroom to connect learners to curricula and instruction), has focused on relationships between the faculty and students rather than asking whether (or not) these technologies foster an effective learning community (Garrison & Archer, 2000. Why is eLearning an appeal to colleges and universities? Arguably, distance education, or making use of computers and Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, Moodle and Canvas, to connect students and faculty in a learning environment that uses mobile phones, laptops, and social media technologies is evolving as a pedagogic opportunity.
