India is a big country and have different states with different culture, geography, natural resource and diversity. Chhattisgarh is a central state of India, and embrace unique identity due to their natural resource, traditional practice and tribal culture. Chhattisgarh has difference in geographic plains i.e. its northern and southern parts has hill with dense forest, and the central part has plain surface suitable for rice crop and because of this it is well known as Rice state. A large forest belt about 41% of the total area, makes a state rich in terms of natural resources, ecosystem and different type of habitat. The river is a life line for all; Chhattisgarh has rich source of water, capable to fulfil needs of the various biosphere. The government is also developing and protecting different water resources like Mahandai Reservoir project, Hasdeo Bango project, Tandula, Kharung, Maniyari and Sikasar project. Such kind of initiatives by a Government of Chhattisgarh, makes haven for the all. This book covers water, soil, forest and energy resources of the state, and emphasised on the ecosystem and biodiversity of the state with coverage of biosphere present in the state.
