Volume One of a collection of German folksongs, edited by Otto Frederick Hattstaedt (1862-1950), including his two-page foreword. Hattstaedt taught at Concordia College, Milwaukee, between 1884 and 1938. In addition to directing the college orchestra and leading the glee club, he taught history, German literature, and German grammar.
