Vallisneria americana 'gigantea rubra' is a red colour morph of one of the more unusual Vallis species and is relatively uncommon. It is slightly more challenging than the more popular V. spiralis and the natural colour morph of itself because it requires more light. This is a great Vallis for taller aquaria because of its length. The characteristic 'red' ends will only grow red under brighter light.
