FOUR PIECES OF

KANGAROO SKIN LEATHER

NATURAL VEGETABLE TANNED

Each one is 290mm long x 50mm wide.

Approx. 0.8 mm thick.

The quoted dimensions are not precise.
They may well be slightly less.
If you are particular about the size and thickness of the leather you will get, please make sure you send me either a question or a message.
I am here to make sure you are happy with your purchase.

Skin leather has a much flatter surface than Kangaroo tail leather.

We can supply other sizes and quantities in a single order.
Please ask a question via CONTACT SELLER.
In your question, please make sure to say exactly what size and how many.

These in the photo are the ones you will get.
The price is lower because it is a slightly lower grade. Still very, very effective as a strop and useful for many other craft projects.
The colour and finish is natural veg tanned.

The web addresses below will show you some Youtube videos that demonstrates the use of Kangaroo tail leather for a knife edge strop. Just copy one and paste it in to a new browser window.
The first video also details a very neat and inexpensive way to set yourself up with a very effective fixed angle diamond sharpening system.

THIS NEXT VIDEO SHOWS A ROTARY STROP THAT
PRODUCES INCREDIBLY SHARP EDGES ON KNIVES.
THE SHARPEST WE HAVE EXPERIENCED.
Note: Only use the strop after sharpening with a hone.

And here is a link to a video produced by a highly respected journalist that was broadcast by the Australian Broadcasting Commission giving some idea about the extent of the Kangaroo plague. The video is getting to be a few years old now, but is still relevant today. Particularly interesting is the interview starting at about 5 minute 47 seconds into the video.

Kangaroo hide is a 100% renewable and sustainable resource. Before harvest no chemical dips, sprays or drenches of any kind are ever used to aid production. Unlike some suppliers, we freeze our hides (rather than use fortified hide salt) at the point of harvest in order to avoid preservative chemicals. Thereafter the only treatment is the actual tanning to make the leather.

 SOME FEEDBACK COMMENTS:-
:- Thanks for super speedy delivery and a beautiful product! Will buy again!!!

:- Good quality product.

:- Thanks for your help showing me how to strop and sharpen.
I made two pads from the 50 x 300 Kangaroo tail to fit on the fixed angle guide.
Now as I sharpen and then strop my knives on the fixed angle guide I use the back or pulling method.
And wow, it is much more refined and holds the edge longer and its like I have power steering on my knife.

:- Hi. Just used the roo leather as a strop. I got an amazing result.
My sharpening skills are improving but finishing the blade on that leather feels great and blade performs beautifully.
Thanks for your advice about leaving off the polishing compounds. Can't see myself using them now. Thanks
