Collectable Vintage Caithness Glass Paperweight: Sea Dance unique etched sea urchin lines. It is 

signed CIIG on the back as a unique specimen.

This is a lovely paperweight by the master of Scottish Glass, Colin Terris (1937 - 2007). 

Colin Terris is acknowledged internationally as the Father of Modern Paperweight Design and was for 33 years the lead designer at Caithness Glass.

This is a weight from the 1980s and has a classic Sea Dance Design - with most of the action and movement in the weight confined to the lower section - with a crystal etched dome above. The etching being specific to this weight hence the CIIG signature as was sold as a second.

The base is a warm olive green tone with a blush of orange on top - and  dancing bubbles issues from the sea there are little internal waves with tiny bubbles forming the ocean spray 

Dimensions: Diameter in the middle is 3 inches , the base is 2.4'' and with a height of 2 3/4 inches - so a nice large weight.

Condition is very good for age . It has been displayed and has scratches on the base and a tiny pinprick all mentionned for accuracy

A really nice weight that will please any collector.
