Emilie Mediz-Pelikan (1863 Vöcklabruck/Upper Austria - 1908 Dresden) was a very well-known Austrian female artist. She was a student of the landscape painter A. Zimmermann and took part in the first exhibition of the "Wiener Secession" in 1898 with portrait paintings. From 1902 she exhibited with the Viennese exhibition group "Hagenbund". She is considered a representative of the later nature romanticism and was married to the well-known Austrian painter Karl Mediz (1868-1945). Emilie Mediz-Pelikan was active as painter and graphic designer in Vienna and Dresden, where she died in March 1908.
