Théodore Fort was a well listed French genre, animal and military painter and watercolorist active in the 1840s. He was born ca. 1810 and studied art with his father - court painter Jean-Antoine-Simeon Fort (1793-1861). Théodore Fort debuted at the Paris Salon in 1842. His specialty was equestrian paintings depicting action-packed military scenes and pastoral farm subjects. Fort's works are held in the collections of the Musée de Louviers and Musée Beaux-Arts de Mulhouse in France.
