Mit der Serie French Excellence feiert die Monnaie de Paris die Tradition des französischen Kunsthandwerks. Die 2023 Ausgabe ist in Zusammenarbeit mit Lacoste eine Hommage an die erste Sportbekleidungsmarke in der Geschichte sowie an ihr 90. Gründungsjubiläum im Jahr 2023. Um die besondere Verbindung zwischen der Marke Lacoste und dem Leistungssport, insbesondere Golf und Tennis, hervorzuheben, wurde diese Münze aus 99,9% Silber in Form eines Tennisschlägers geprägt. Auf der Bespannung des Tennisschlägers sind ein Krokodil, das Emblem der Marke und Spitzname von René Lacoste, sowie ein Tennisball zu sehen. Als Hommage an Simone Thion de la Chaume, Golfmeisterin und Frau von René Lacoste, wurde der Tennisball mit der Textur eines Golfballs versehen. Auf der Rückseite ist das berühmte Baumwoll-Piqué Muster zu sehen, sowie der Nennwert und das Ausgabejahr. Die weltweit bekannte französische Bekleidungsmarke Lacoste wurde 1933 von dem erfolgreichen Tennisspieler René Lacoste (1904-1996) gegründet. Das Markenzeichen, ein stilisiertes Krokodil, ist international bekannt und ziert nicht nur Bekleidung, sondern auch Parfüm, Lederwaren, Brillen und Schuhe. Die Lieferung der limitierten Gedenkmünze in Polierter Platte erfolgt im Original-Etui inklusive einem Echtheits-Zertifikat.

With the French Excellence series, the Monnaie de Paris celebrates the tradition of fine French craftsmanship. The 2023 edition pays homage to Lacoste, the first sportswear brand in history, as well as to its 90th founding anniversary. To highlight the special connection between the Lacoste brand and competitive sports, particularly golf and tennis, this silver coin was struck in the shape of a tennis racket. The tennis racket's cover features a crocodile, the brand's emblem and nickname of René Lacoste, and a tennis ball. As a tribute to Simone Thion de la Chaume, golf champion and wife of René Lacoste, the tennis ball has been given the texture of a golf ball. The reverse features the famous cotton piqué pattern, as well as the denomination and year of issue. The world-renowned French clothing brand Lacoste was founded in 1933 by the successful tennis player René Lacoste (1904-1996). The trademark, a stylized crocodile, is internationally known and adorns not only clothing, but also perfume, leather goods, eyewear and shoes. The limited commemorative coin in proof quality is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
