An original 1909-11 T206 card of Ed Killian (Portrait), Detroit Tigers, with the Piedmont 350/25 reverse.

Killian pitched for the Tigers all eight seasons of his MLB career from 1903-1910.  He was a teammate of Ty Cobb, 1905-1910.  For all of his accomplishments, Cobb never won a World Series. His Tigers won the AL Pennant just three times, and Killian was present for all three, 1907-1909.  Killian twice won 20+ games and led the AL in shutouts in 1905 with eight. Lifetime record of 103-78, an excellent ERA of 2.38, and from 1904-1906, did not give up a single home run. For his career, he surrendered just 9 in 1,598 innings.

This card is one of the reported approximately 4,400 cards the Topps company went out and bought for their 2002 Topps 206 product.  The buybacks were inserted into standard card size 'frames' and inserted into packs.

The original card has a completely crease-free image with great color and focus.  The reverse is fairly clean with some very faint soiling and a small spot of surface wear (above 'SERIES')  I grade it as Very Good.  Judge for yourself using the images provided.
