This brand/model represents my favorite cotton shorts, but this is the second time I have come across these shorts that fit a little different. It's not a defect, because it appears the slightly older version of these shorts were cut higher in the crotch area (so more of an athletic cut). The overall length still appears the same as the newer version of these shorts, and the way this works is the more athletic cut results in a longer inseam. Having said all of this, I prefer the lower cut version of these shorts, which results in a looser and more casual fit. Unfortunately, I did not try these shorts on before removing the tags and washing them. So I am unable to return them and will therefore offer them (here) at a modest discount (from their factory MSRP of $35).

Again, before anyone else considers these shorts, please scan my notes regarding fit. I'm about 6" tall and at the time of this listing weigh about 190 lbs. I generally prefer loose fitting shorts and usually land somewhere in between a size large and x-large. As alluded to above, the newer version of these Nike Sportwear Club shorts in a size x-large fit me perfect. Unfortunately, these don't for the reasons discussed above. I do want to confirm these shorts have the look and feel of all my other Nike Sportswear Club shorts, but the higher (more athletic) cut is just not my preference. Hope these thoughts about sizing are helpful.

As I mentioned above, these are new shorts that were washed once before I tried them on (and realized the fit was not ideal). I can also confirm the pictures reflect the actual shorts that are being offered for sale.
