Lot of 4, ROYAL DOULTON "FAIRFAX," English Translucent China Porcelain, England

Object: This auction is for a lot of four pieces of beautiful Royal Doulton "Fairfax" English translucent fine china porcelain. Included is a hard-to-find open sugar bowl, an 8oz footed teacup, one 6 1/2" dessert plate, and one 8" salad plate. This pattern features tactile ribbing and a floral pattern and rims of gold-gilt.

Signed:  Each piece is marked in black on the bottom "Made in England, Royal Doulton, England, English Translucent China, Fairfax, T.C. 1006, Copyright, Doulton & Co Limited."

Pattern: Fairfax (bands of flowers, leaves and berries in gold-gilt)

Color:  Bone white body; rims and decorative floral bands of shiny, gold-gilt. Any green or yellow tints or white spots are from the camera.

Material:  English Translucent China, porcelain

Surface:  Glossy and smooth; tactile ribbing around the rims of the plates and around the bodies of the cups

Technique:  Factory made 

Features:  Delicate walls; tactile ribbing; gold-gilt rims and lacy floral patterns; footed teacup; handless "open" sugar bowl could be used as a small soup bowl; hand wash.

Condition:  Very good pre-owned, vintage condition. Appear never used. No chips, cracks, crazing or utensil marks. Most of our items are estate finds and are in good to excellent used condition. Vintage, pre-owned items will not usually be in mint condition, but may show signs of age, use, or wear from being pre-owned and loved for many years. Measurements:  The cup holds 8 ounces and measures 3" high and 4 1/4" wide including the handle. The open sugar or soup cup holds 12 ounces and measures 2 1/2" high and has a 4 1/2" diameter opening. The dessert plate is 6 1/2" and the salad plate is 8" in diameter.

Weight before Packaging:  All 4 pieces together weigh 1 pound 8 ounces.
