This is a poster created during World War ll as part of the home front campaign to conserve waste products for the war effort. A cannon is loaded with the main message of saving waste fats; a clever approach. Collecting cooking fats was important as they could be converted to glycerin, an ingredient in explosives. One pound of waste fat equaled 1/10 of a pound of glycerine. 1/10 pound of glycerine equaled 1/5 of a pound of nitroglycerine.

Unfortunately, we were not able to learn details about the artist of this poster.

This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition.

We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
