Product Description:

This offering is for a new-old-stock Gipiemme aero style seatpost. Some of it's more prominent design features and specs include the following...

  • Size: 26.0 mm (post/pillar diameter)

  • Total length: 215 mm (measured from the middle of the saddle clamp to the bottom of the pillar)

  • Usable length (max): 155 mm (measured from the middle of the saddle clamp to the limit line)

  • Off set: 25 mm (horizontal distance from the center of the post/pillar to the center of the saddle clamp bolt)

  • Weight: 265 grams (per our digital postal scale)

  • Other notes: The post/pillar and nearly all the saddle clamp parts are made from an aluminum alloy. The saddle clamp bolt and washer are made from a chromoly steel.

We originally purchased a few samples of these seatposts and although the cosmetic condition was not as nice as we had hoped, they were well received by customers, so we purchased the remaining stocks from a European wholesaler. We particularly like the aero styling, and the matte black finish is a nice contrast to the silver finish that covers the lower half of the pillar. We also like the engraved "Gipiemme" logo on the frontside of the pillar. It's a nice, albeit understated, touch to this classic looking seatpost.

We just wish they had been packed better by the wholesaler. The problem is...they were bulk packed in boxes of 20 with individual slots cut out in the box for each post to stand in an upright position (and free from contact from other seatposts). Although, over the years, it appears some of the saddle clamp parts worked themselves loose and some of the pillars somehow worked themselves out of their slots...so there were some loose parts in each of these boxes that contributed to the shopwear on each seatpost (to varying degrees). For this reason, we are dividing the seatposts into two categories...those with less shopwear vs. those with more visible shopwear.

Keeping the aforementioned categories in mind, we are offering one of the nicer seatposts here (so a seatpost with less shopwear). Listing Update...Please also note that while we have multiple quantities listed for sale, we will repeatedly update the pictures to reflect the next offering that will sell/ship.

Note to international customers regarding shipping...
We apologize to those that feel some of our international shipping charges are too high. We only charge actual shipping rates, but once an order exceeds a certain amount, we hesitate to use the least expensive US Postal Services First Class International service. We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case.

Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning auction bids (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value). As a result, each customer will be responsible for paying his/her own country taxes, duties and brokerage fees, which will be collected upon delivery. Again, we apologize for these additional costs, but we cannot afford the penalties and fines that come with breaking customs' laws...so we have to strictly abide by them.
