Up for your consideration is an incredibly rare HEAVY brass safe plaque from an authentic Herring and Co "Salamander" safe. This plate had a thick layer of lead paint, lacquer or similar coating on it which was carefully chipped off revealing a near perfect finish. There is no patina on this plate because it has been covered, sealed with paint, likely since it was new. It has an impressive lustrous gold shine and some of the factory marks from casting clean up are still visible. One of the fish screw mounts on the side has a small fracture but they are BOTH present which is highly uncommon. The plaque has a few dings on the bottom and they are pictured. I don't think you'll find a nicer plate than this one.
