Photograph Notes: Normally occurring in the UK in wintering flocks this individual has been present at the Cosmeston Lakes Country Park since 27 December 2011. It is ringed with the standard metal ring used by the British Trust for Ornithology and with an orange darvic ring numbered Y59 for ease of recognition in the field. The bird was ringed in Worcestershire in January 2011 and is believed to have originated in Iceland. Lone individuals occur regularly and may be distinguished from the similar Mute Swan by lack of a knob on the bill and yellow, rather than orange, bill colouration. SS8776 : Whooper Swan at Ogmore
