Cover with letter, signed and with seal.

Signed by Sir George Musgrave, 10th Baronet of Hartley Castle, whilst residing at Goldington.

With seal bearing his crest of two arms in armour gauntletted enbowed holding an annulet.

The recipient was the Reverend William Janes Darley Waddilove MA of Beacon Grange, Hexham, father of Admiral Charles Ladowich Darley Waddilove.

The text of the letter, over three full sides and extending either side of the front address, concerns a missal that Waddilove has sent him thinking it is connected to the Black Prince. Sir George discounts this in detail, and refers to a second opinion provided by Herald and Antiquary Pawsey (who attended Waddilove's university?). He refers to the Louches family in his observations.
The sign off relates to Waddilove's son, Robert James Daly Waddilove RN, who has just started a life at sea. He was to die and be committed at sea in 1844 aged 25, having spent thirteen years in service.

Will be sent second class signed for.
