Fliegen-Mien-Leben signed in the book by Hanna Reitsch:  An extremely legible and  bold signature: German Text.

The first and only war time woman to receive the "Iron Cross." Hanna Reitsch was presented with the "Iron Cross" on March 27th 1941 by Herman Goering at his house in Berlin and in the company of Ernst Udet, on the following day she was presented with the "Iron Cross II" by Adolph Hitler at the Reich Chancellery.

Test pilot for the Luftwaffe she test flew the ME-163a, ME-163b the V1 "manned" rocket among other war time aircraft.  Not without incident however, Reitsch suffered serious injuries on many a test flight, either due to faulty controls or other unexpected problems.

Incredibly courageous woman who flew for the Fatherland.
