These locknuts have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic. The nylon insert grips the bolt to resist loosening without damaging threads. They're reusable, but their holding power lessens with each use.

 

Stainless steel type:

201 stainless steel (SUS), suitable for use in dry environments, easily rusted with water.
304 (A2) stainless steel, outdoor or humid environment, corrosion and acid resistant.
316 (A4) stainless steel, added molybdenum, more corrosion resistance and pitting resistance, especially suitable for seawater and chemical media.
