WHY ENGLAND SLEPT
by
John F. Kennedy
1st British Edition
1940
This book is based on future President John F. Kennedy's senior thesis while an undergraduate at Harvard College. After his graduation, he was encouraged to rewrite the thesis and publish it as a book. The forward was written for the 1940 publication of Henry R. Luce who, at the time, was a "highly influential publishing magnate." The book "examines the failures of the British government to take steps to prevent World War II and its initial lack of response to Adolf Hitler's threats of war."
This volume is the rare 1st British edition.
