Executed (according to the form of the sitter's wig) in the 1760s, presumably by Berlin court miniaturist Anton Friedrich Koenig, it is a portrait of celebrated Prussian warlord, since 1751 General Field Marshal Johann (Hans) von Lehwaldt (1685-1768; see our images nr. 4-6).
The well-known German miniaturist Anton Friedrich Koenig (1722 Berlin - 1787 ibidem) was a pupil of C.L.Blesendorf and A.Pesne and from 1767 worked as royal portrait miniature painter in Berlin, being the most fruitful North German miniaturist of his time.
