Antique 1920’s Art Deco Buddha
& Pagodas Ornate Ivorine Celluloid Purse Frame
Description:
This is a gorgeous antique Art Deco hand carved
ivorine purse frame.
This very unusual purse frame is made entirely of
ivorine, an early celluloid material resembling ivory. It has a brown patina
and is decorated on both sides with hand-carved Buddhas and Pagodas, and a
three dimensional carved Buddha punger top.
There are two rings on sides for attaching a carrying
chain or strap.
Unmarked but very probably made in France, ca. 1920's.
Dimensions:
5-¾" (14.5 cm) wide x 5 inches (12.7 cm) height.
Condition:
Absolutely original frame in near mint to mint overall
condition. Hinges and latch/catch are intact and working properly.
