Hard to find in the UK, a very nice Ball Hamilton 21 jewel railroad watch that is running as it should.

The nickel split plate movement was made by Hamilton Watch Co. to Ball design and specification. Ball watch Co. did not manufacture movements as these were supplied by other manufacturers. Ball completed the final assembly into cases and then sold the watch under their brand name.
This particular movement, a 999P, was made in 1924. It is exceptional high quality having 21 jewels, a gold centre wheel, a fully capped Swiss lever escapement with Sapphire pallet stones, gold timing screws and a Ball micro-regulator. It is finished with a beautiful damascened pattern and engraved gold coloured script. It has just been fully serviced and with a new mainspring fitted. It runs strong in all positions and is keeping excellent time.
The watch is crown wind and lever set (withdraw the small lever adjacent to the 1 and rotate the crown to set the time).

The original Ball Model gold filled case is in super condition. There are no dents, dings or heavy abrasion, and all of the gold is bright and lustrous. Please see the Hi-Res photos to judge the condition of this lovely case. It has screw on/off front and rear covers both doing so easily, although the rear needs a bit of finesse when replacing. The pendant crown and bow are all in first class order.

The dial, ah the dial! Unfortunately there has at some point been an attempt to repair a chip at the 7-8 (not by me I hasten to add). As you will see from the photos this has not been successful. The rest of the dial is fine but the (repair?) is obvious and my asking price does reflect this. These dials can be found should the new owner wish to replace this one.
Steel spade style hands to indicate the time under a very good mineral glass crystal.

Thank you for looking and please check out the other fine watches I am currently listing.
