By 1991 the studio began catering to the culinary arts marketplace where word of his high-quality, handcrafted and durable stoneware quickly spread across the country. Today his handmade commercial pottery graces the tables and buffets of leading chefs and resorts including The Lodge at Torrey Pines, La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, PF Chang's, the MGM, Hyatt, Harrah's and more. • One of these plates has the distinctive black stamp that reads, "The Wheel, Made by hand in the U.S.A."
  • The glossy bodies are a heavy stoneware with slightly flared rims. Bottoms are unglazed.
  • Each plate has their beautiful Red Reef glaze which is a deep red and green-brown speckled and dripped glaze.
  • Colors are richer and warmer that photos show; photos cannot do justice to these beautiful pieces.
  • "The Wheel" pottery is handmade and wheel turned so no two designs are exactly the same.
  • Each dinner plate measures 11 1/4" in diameter and about 1" high with a 9" diameter base.
  • Both pieces together weigh 6 pounds, 6 ounces before packaging.
  • Very good pre-owned condition with no chips or cracks. There is some surface wear, crazing and minor hairlines on each piece. Please see photos. Any other irregularities in design, shape or glaze would be from the handmade process.
  • The Wheel pottery is durable, dishwasher safe, and can go safely from freezer to oven to table.  As with any pottery, pieces should be brought to room temperature before transferring.
