Vintage 20th Century Hand Carved Watermelon Tourmaline & Diamond Butterfly Set in Gold and Silver.

This is such a unique piece! It can be worn as both a pendant hanging from the bail, or as a brooch, or use the brooch back to thread it onto a velvet choker necklace.

The beauty of the wings are hard to capture in a photograph- much like those of a real butterfly! They are made from two hand-carved watermelon tourmaline gemstone pieces that shimmer with an array of stunning pink, green, purple, yellow and orange colours. These colours can be singled out with the outfit you choose to wear as you can see in two of the listing photos, and glitter and change in the lighting.

The butterfly tail and antenna are covered in tiny single cut diamonds- 101 of them in total to be precise- which are a blend of fancy champagne, yellow and light brown colours which have been set in a solid silver front, and gold gilt back.

Butterflies have very deep and powerful symbolic representations of life. Around the world, people view the butterfly as a symbol of endurance, evolutionary phases, change, hope, and life.

A simply amazing, one-of-a-kind piece of very fine quality-you will never see another one. The gold chain it is pictured with is not included with the sale of the butterfly.
