For sale is this incredible authentic ancient iron ax head! This ax head is made of a heavy and firm iron. It is rusted from years of being buried, but his still firm. It was located in Central Europe, and has been a part of a private US based collection for many years now. The collection is being sold off upon its owners retirement and I was lucky enough to get this with some owner pieces. This ax head was once mounted to a wooden handle, and was likely used as a weapon in ancient Roman culture. It’s design is consistent with other pieces known to have been used for this purpose. It is made of iron, and has a good bit of rust on it. Note from the photos the wear and heavy pitting. This is an incredible find. Great authentic artifact that would work as a display piece, teaching tool, conversation piece, or collectible! Perfect for any collection! Don’t pass it up!

This piece has the following provenance:

- Found in Central Europe

- Purchased by a German collector once the items were released for sale

- Purchased in the 1980/90’s by a Private US collector, and displayed in a private collection of ancient & medieval artifacts (mostly arms and armor).

- I purchased it from this collection when the owner retired, and began selling his items off.
