• The image area measures 24 x 17 cm [9½" x 6¾"], and longitude is measured from Greenwich and Washington.



• The map was compiled and engraved by W. & A.K. Johnston and issued in the 9th edition of the Encyclopædia Britannica, published by Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, in 1884.
