We are this fine offering this large format Edward S. Curtis sepia-tone photogravure titled "Gathering Hanamh-Papago" which dates to 1907.  It was produced on Japanese Vellum by John Andrew and Son of Boston.  It depicts a native American (Tohono O'Odham, Papago) woman harvesting cholla cactus fruit with a specialized stick.  She is wearing a necklace and scarf and is holding a native handwoven basket.  It is plate #49 from Curtis's "Indians of North America, vol. 2, The Pima, the Papago, the Qahatika, the Mohave, the Yuma, the Maricopa, the Walapai, the Havasu".  The image is 15 3/4" x 11 3/4".  The sheet size is 21 15/16" x 18". 

This photo has a Certificate of Authenticity from Dr. Mark Sublette President and CEO of Medicine Man Gallery in Tucson, Arizona.  It is dated August 5, 2020.  The price paid for this piece at that time was $950.00
