Turning inch threads with a lathe: how does it work?
The lathe EDM300DS enables cutting of a metric thread with a metric pitch (0.4; 0.6; 0.8; 1mm etc.) as standard. With offered gear you will be able to use the lathe EDM300 or similar, to additionally cut the common inch thread with 11 threads per inch. This thread is used for 1" and larger pipes. Following thread types can be cut: G 1“, G 1 1/4“, G 1 1/2“, G 2“, G 2 1/2“, G 3“, G 3 1/2“ und G 4“. The following combination of gears is used for this (see photo):
Gear A: 60 teeth (included in the standard delivery of EDM300)
Gear B: 50 teeth (included in the standard delivery of EDM300)
Gear D: 39 teeth (offered here)
