Specially designed to bond between our AQUAPLAS® Dampening Coating and tough-to-coat cone materials.
You do not need a primer if you want to apply our Resonate Damping Coating to an untreated, uncoated, paper speaker cone. If treated, coated, made of another material, or if in doubt, then apply this primer first. A reliable bond is essential to ensure adhesion to loudspeaker cones.

There are oodles of generic water-based acrylic polymer paint primers on the market but none of them withstand the rigorous demands of speaker cones vibrating at one hundred times a second for years. Meld 007 is a strong, high-tech, state of the art primer that goes beyond ceramic.

It is the toughest substance known to humankind. Graphene’s two-dimensional structure and unique features make it particularly suited for use as a multi-functional additive in speaker cone coatings. In this composition, both the graphene and the primer retain their own benefits, but together produce properties not achieved alone. Graphene is the primary load-carrier. The primer transfers the load between the graphene molecules. The tensile and flexural strength of the graphene plays a significant role in reinforcing the primer. The tensile strength helps resist destructive forces while the flexural strength helps resist bending. The graphene helps prevent cracking and breakage. The graphene provides added value to the primer by increasing its strength.
