Hamilton Ltd., 90 Great
Russell Street, London, 1958, and is bound in red cloth, with embossed
silver
lettering and design on spine.
- The original
unclipped dust jacket was designed by Patricia Davey and has a
photograph
of Chandler by Douglas Glass on the rear cover.
- The book features the private detective Philip Marlowe,
in his last
appearance. It was published in Britain in July 1958; the US edition
followed in October. Chandler died the following year.
- Condition: It is in very good
condition, tight and clean, with no
marks,
rips, tears, or turned corners. The text block has bowed slightly, and
the front and rear endpapers have a light band of toning. The cover
boards are sound, with strong
corners
and no edge wear. The dust jacket shows minor edge wear and a
couple of tiny
