These two speakers were purchased circa 1997. They are unpowered and can be hooked up via copper wire to an amp or home theater receiver. One of them has a chip in the top back (see pictures). They work fine for their age and sound great with a good amp.


Note: high bass may cause speaker rattle. This may be due to age of interior foam, design of the speakers, or bass that is more than the speaker can take. A dedicated subwoofer with proper cross fading can alleviate these issues by sending lower frequencies to the subwoofer and leaving the mids and highs to the speakers.
