For sale is this authentic ancient fibula artifact. This piece originated from the Ancient Roman Empire and likely dates back to the 1st or 4th century AD. A fibula is a type of ancient pin worn as a decoration or appliqué. They were popular from the 12th century BC until modern times in some regions, making it one of the oldest forms of complex jewelry. It has a pin that goes into cloth clothing, and an outer decoration piece. Often used to hold a sash on someone (imagine a decorative safety pin of sorts). This piece is guaranteed authentic and would be a perfect display-worthy piece for any collection! Acquired from a Arkansas, US based private collection. It is a very good example! Of course, there are still some expected blemishes and flaws, but is in overall good condition. This is a cleaned, stabilized, and restored piece, so it is ready for wear/display!
