Raleigh Team Banana 531c
Updated with latest Shimano 105 11 speed drivetrain and Mavic Ksyrium wheels.
59cm centre of bottom bracket to top of seat tube
57cm top tube
I bought this last year set up as a single speed bike.
It's now been equipped with the current Shimano 105 drivetrain as a nod to the original Shimano 105 kit it would have had in the 1980's.
Frame was repainted by the previous owner. He assured me it was an original 531c Banana. I can't prove this, but the frame number confirms it as a 1987 bike built by the Raleigh Lightweight Unit.
Frame is in excellent, almost unmarked condition.
Wheels are Mavic Kysrium Equipe S. They run straight and true with no bearing play. Tyres are Continental Grand Prix 4 Season with little wear.
The following components were bought new and fitted in 2022
Crankset: Shimano 105 R7000 52/36.
Rear Derailleur: Shimano 105 R7000
Front Derailleur: Shimano 105 R7000
Cassette: Shimano 105 11 speed 11-28
Bottom Bracket: Shimano Ultegra
Gear Levers: Dia Compe ENE
The drivetrain works perfectly with the Dia Compe levers
Brakes are Shimano Ultegra 6500
Original Raleigh handlebars
SR Custom stem
SR Laprede seat post
Selle Italia Seta saddle
New brake and gear cables fitted
Pedals not included.
The bike is a pleasure to ride and gets more positive comments than any of my other bikes.
Selling as I've just bought two more bikes and run out of space.
As pictured the bike is set up for me at 5' 10" with 32" inside leg
Please check photos to judge condition for yourself.
Bike can be viewed in Derby
Collection only, but I would consider meeting up within 50 miles for cost of petrol
Thanks for looking
