The first printing of the first edition. Original hardback in the  original dustwrapper. 155 pages, plus frontispiece.  Original 6s price to the inside front flap. The dustwrapper is in attractive condition with some wear and tear (see pictures). The book itself is likewise in attractive condition, with light bumping (see picture). Binding sound and square. 

George E Rochester (1898-1966) was a prolific author of pulp fiction under a variety of names, which included Hamilton Smith and Jeffrey Gaunt. Like his later literary rival, W E Johns, he served as a young flying officer in the Royal Flying Corps in the First World War, and was shot down and imprisoned in Germany in 1918.  Much of his work was for magazines and never published in book form.
