Art Nouveau Aluminium Box 1910s? 'St. Eloi' Stratford on Avon Vintage N.C.J.?
In good condition. Some marks and dents from age. Label residue on base.
Stamp on base reads ""St.Eloi" Aluminium Ware Made At Stratford on Avon"
This was possiibly made by N.C.Joseph Ltd. who were an aluminium pressing plant in Stratford-on-Avon. It looks like an early experimental piece. Maybe even a 'mock-up' for a chocolate box? They manufactured aluminium 'tins' for J.S.Fry for chocolates.
Measures approx. 25.5cm x 10cm x 5.5cm.
