Photograph Notes: The wing is an addition to an early 2nd C. villa built mainly in the churchyard, the north east corner can just be seen top right. The build was timber frame on stone foundations, in the 3rd C. the villa was extended to the west, this was then followed by a complete rebuild, in stone, of the earlier building. The occupation of the site goes back at least into the Neolithic, for more information see Acton Trussell Roman Villa website ://actontrussellromanvilla.weebly
