An Uncommon Complete Set: "Course in Practical Electricity" in 10 Parts in its Original Slipcase. A Scarce set of instructional pamphlets published in 1917 by the National Electric Light Association, Commercial Section, Under the Direction of the Committee on Education, The Chicago Central Station Institute. On the back cover of each pamphlet, the series is described as: A course in Ten Lessons on Magnetism and Electricity, suitable for beginners and those who wish a review of the principles underlining electrical apparatus. The back cover also advertises another correspondence course in Commercial Engineering.

Each stapled pamphlet has light brown card covers with dark brown printing. The interior pages are glossy with b/w illustrations and photographs, and the 10 pamphlets range in size from 28 to 40 pages in length. Topics include Magnetism, Circuits, Batteries, Direct and Alternating Current, Motors, Transformers, Meters, etc. Generally in Good to Very Good condition. Slight rippling to some covers and pages. A couple pamphlets have pages with creased corners. Some pamphlets have exposed rusty staples. All are still tightly bound, though in volume I the inner hinges are cracked. The brown cardboard slipcase is in About Good condition with worn edges, some moisture stains and a bit of warping. It still houses all 10 pamphlets nicely.
