This lovely fret cut and enameled box was made in the late Qing Era c. 1890.  It is composed of floral hollow cut hemispherical reeds alternating with solid floral enameled poly-chrome hemispherical reeds with a punch work background.  The box is decorated in the manner on all sides as well as the lid.  It is a virtuoso piece of craftsmanship with a plain probably originally silvered interior with a bottom simply marked FOREIGN.  The box is 4.4" wide x 3.5" deep x 2" tall.  It is in excellent antique condition with no observable damage.
