DESCRIPTION

• Profender breaks the life cycle by killing larvae, immature adult and adult intestinal worms and lungworm before they have a chance to cause serious damage or spread. Tableting a cat can be difficult — Profender eliminates this step by providing a pre-measured, spot-on applicator to make treating your cat a breeze. Simply apply Profender to the skin at the back of your cat’s head to be sure they’re getting the required dose.
• Use Profender at the start of every season (or every three months) to keep nasty worms at bay. With a fuss-free application, you can’t go wrong with Profender Cat Allwormer for Cats to keep your cat healthy and happy.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

• For tapeworms, treat every 3 months.
• For roundworms and hookworms, treat at 8, and 12  weeks of age and thereafter every 3 months.
• For lungworms one treatment is efficacious in the treatment of an existing lungworm infection.
• PROFENDER can be used during pregnancy and lactation.
• For pregnant cats, treat at matting, before the birth of the kitten and then every 3 months if worm problems persist consult a veterinarian.
• DO NOT administer by mouth. Avoid the recipient cat or other cats in the household licking the site of application after the treatment has been applied.
• If licked by cats, transient signs of distaste (and occasionally vomiting) may be observed due to the bitter taste, and mild and transient neurological disorders such as ataxia may occur in vert rare cases.
• Shampooing or immersion of the animal in water directly treatment may reduce the efficacy of the product. Treated animals should not be bathed until the solution has fully dried.

SIDE EFFECTS

• The liquid vehicle in PROFENDER may discolour certain surfaces and fabrics e.g. polished floorboard, leather. Allow the application site to dry before permitting contact
• Occasionally hair loss, inflammation or pruritus may occur at the application site. This is usually a single occurrence and hair  will grow back uneventfully

SAFETY

• Harmful if swallowed. Will irritate the eyes. Avoid contact with eyes. If product in your eyes, wash it out immediately with water. Wash hands after use.

• Do not administer to kittens under 8 weeks of age, or less that 0.5kg bodyweight.

DERICTIONS FOR USE:

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

For external application only.

The minimum recommended dosage is 3 mg/kg emodepside and 12 mg/kg praziquantel equivalent to 0.14ml PROFENDER per kg bodyweight.

A single treatment is effective. Retreat according to general instruction.

ADVICE ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION:

Remove one tube from blister packaging,. If applying PROFENDER allwormer to a cat wearing a SERESTO collar, there is no need to remove the SERESTO collar.  However, remove any other collar prior to application, and replace when product is dry. Hold tube in upright position. twist and pull off the cap. Turn the cap over and place the other end of the cap onto the tip of the tube. Twist the cap to break the seal and then remove cap from tube. 

Part the hair on the back of the cat’s neck at the base of the head, until the skin is visible.

Place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze the entire contents directly onto the skin. Please see product label for complete application instructions.

DISPOSAL

Dispose of used applicators by wrapping in paper and placing in garbage. 

STORAGE

Store in unopened, original packaging below 25 °C (air conditioning).
