This is a 1938 Stromberg Carlson radio model 320-H made in Rochester NY. This is a great looking deco tabletop radio with an outstanding turned brass dial. Normally I am presented with a challenge to start and this was no different. The case was dirty covered with decades of dirt. Removed all of the old radio guts. After cleaning the mess I found that the beautiful walnut veneer was not perfect but  in ok condition. Look at the pics. Used fine steel wool with water on the whole case to even up the original varnish. Did all of that to try & save some of the original 80 year old finish. I think it is important to retain as much of the original as possible w/o scarificing everything. Now you can see the veneer running around the radio . Put a light gloss lacquer coat over the case to protect the finish. Please look at the pics. Was able reuse the original turned brass dial and glass cover. There were no knobs so I used 3 bakelite knobs from my inventory. Removed the original speaker cloth, cleaned & vacuumed it and reinstalled. Again look at the pics - beautiful .  On the inside, I installed a new Bluetooth digital stereo hi-fi audio amplifier with 50 watts in addition to a big 5" Jensen Pro multi range speaker. Yes this classic is now a real boom box. This thing sounds great. Rewired the original dial light using a 12v LED bulb so everyone can see the details on the dial. The on/off switch for the light is on the back panel. Installed the on/off/volume switch with the knob on the right. The others are fixed. DO NOT TURN. All of the electronics are hard wired and secured to the inner supports insure a long life. This is one of a kind Bluetooth speaker that is deco cool. A real conversation piece that makes a grand statement. There is a new electrical plug also. The 1938 Stromberg Carlson radio converted to Bluetooth speaker measures 14" x 7" x 10" .Will look good, sound great and fit anywhere. Thanks for looking.   ED
